Meet Katie

I grew up on our family farm in south Lincolnshire, happily developing my artistic streak and a total adoration for cakes and all things sweet. 

Despite my creativity and early love of baking, I took the formal academic path and gained a Bsc Hons in Food Science, which led me to a career as a Food Technologist (in the breakfast cereal industry). I satisfied my yearning for creativity by working as a pastry chef in the evenings, from which I realized that a life revolving around cakes was my true destiny.  So, 10 years ago I took the plunge, and swapped a bowl of cereal for a piping bag, and returned to our farm to set up my studio in a converted barn. I haven’t looked back since…

I began my career being personally trained by Dawn Blunden, the Royal wedding cake maker responsible for the Duke & Duchess of Cornwall’s wedding cake. I’ve applied my own modern style to traditional techniques, and never stopped learning, so that combined with my meticulous approach to detail we remain at the pinnacle of our profession.

I love to work with you to take a collaborative approach to designing your ideal wedding cake, I encourage your input and ideas, and harness my extensive experience to produce wedding cakes that both you and your guests will adore.
